This place is rock ’n’ roll.

You can feel the history here, and you can see it: band stickers on every surface, layer on layer of everyone who came through before us.

Heads were banging through our set.

Seattle, you were great.

THE ROOM

109 Eastlake Avenue East has been a music venue, club, or bar in one form or another since 1910: Graceland, The Off Ramp, Sub-Zero, the Eastlake East Cafe, Au Go Go. As The Off Ramp it was a grunge-era proving ground. Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, and Mudhoney came up here, and Pearl Jam played their first shows in this room, while they were still called Mookie Blaylock.

Dana Sims opened it as El Corazon ("the heart") in 2005, and it's still one of Seattle's main all-ages rooms. The main room holds about 800, and the Funhouse next door about 200.

NEXT

Spokane, District, the next night. Then Salt Lake City, Denver, Grand Junction, Albuquerque, Phoenix, and Las Vegas. Dates and tickets are on the tour page.
