First time in Denver, and this city has a strange kind of magic to it. We had a little extra time to explore, and I was loving every minute of it.

First stop was Meow Wolf, where we spent a couple of hours getting lost in a maze of bizarre, immersive worlds. Some of my favorite discoveries were a room covered in face portraits, an underwater mermaid world, and an interactive musical room filled with drums. We could’ve easily disappeared in there for hours.

We also wandered through Capitol Hill, fueled up on some delicious matcha lattes, and soaked in the city’s wonderfully eclectic personality.

The next day was SHOW DAY. We explored the neighborhood around the Oriental Theater and stumbled upon a sandwich shop filled with gnomes. The more I explored Denver, the more I appreciated its quirky, slightly surreal charm. My kind of weird.

And then came the show…

Denver, your energy was ELECTRIC. At this altitude, we needed all the extra oxygen we could get, and somehow, the crowd gave us just that. You filled our lungs and fueled us through the entire set. There was something intoxicating about that room, a packed house radiating so much energy right back at us.

What a rush introducing DEADGRACE to Denver for the very first time. You gave us one hell of a welcome.

Until we meet again.

THE ROOM

The Oriental Theater sits at 4335 West 44th Avenue, at 44th and Tennyson, an anchor of Denver's Tennyson Art and Business District. It opened as a neighborhood movie house on Christmas Eve 1927, designed by Leo Andrew Desjardins, and it's on the National Register of Historic Places, which is part of why it has kept its name.

These days it's a live music room that holds about 700. The show was all ages, with a bar for those with ID, doors at 6.

NEXT

Grand Junction, Mesa Theater, the next night. Then Albuquerque, Phoenix, and Las Vegas. Dates and tickets are on the tour page.
